Product Description

Industrial Grade Modified Heavy Calcium Carbonate Powder Building Materials CAS 471-34-1Calcium carbonate is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula CaCO3. It is the main component of limestone, marble, etc. Calcium carbonate is usually white crystals, odorless, basically insoluble in water, and easily reacts with acids to release carbon dioxide. It is one of the common substances on the earth. It is found in rocks such as aragonite, calcite, chalk, limestone, marble, and travertine. It is also the main component of some animal bones or shells. Calcium carbonate is also an important building material and is widely used in industry.

1. Used in plastic production
Calcium carbonate is widely used in filling polyvinyl chloride (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), acrylic butadiene-styrene copolymer (ABS) and other resins. Adding calcium carbonate has a certain effect on improving certain properties of plastic products to expand their application range. In plastic processing, they can reduce resin shrinkage, improve rheology, and control viscosity. It can also play the following roles:
(1) Improve the dimensional stability of plastic products;
(2) Improve the hardness and rigidity of plastic products;
(3) Improve plastic processing performance;
(4) Improve the heat resistance of plastic products;
(5) Improve the astigmatism of plastics;
(6) The product can have certain special properties;
(7) Reduce the cost of plastic products
2. Used in food industry
It can be used as an additive in the food industry. For example, it can be used as a variety of feed additives, with a calcium content of more than 55.6% and no harmful ingredients. It can be used as a calcium supplement, with an absorption rate of up to 39%, second only to calcium fruit acid, and is soluble in gastric acid. It has become the calcium supplement with the most dosage forms and the most applications.
3. Used in construction industry
It can be used as raw material in plastic factories, rubber factories, paint factories, waterproof material factories and for interior and exterior wall painting. It has the characteristics of high purity, high whiteness, non-toxic, odorless, low fine oil and low hardness. Marble is also an important building material used in house construction.
4. Used in chemical manufacturing industry
350 mesh to 400 mesh can be used to manufacture gusset plates, downpipes, and chemical industry. The whiteness is above 93 degrees. 400 mesh to 600 mesh can be used in toothpaste paste and soap. The whiteness is above 94 degrees. 800 mesh can be used for rubber, cables, PVC, and the whiteness is above 94 degrees.
It can also be used to make optical neodymium glass raw materials, etc.
5. Used for fine ceramic materials
Calcium carbonate can be used to prepare high-temperature stable, dielectric, low thermal conductivity, microporous and highly pure ceramic materials. For example, white conductors are widely used in spark plug preparation, as well as important fine ceramic materials such as semiconductor materials, alumina and enamel pigments.
6. Use mineral fillers and abrasives
Industrial calcium carbonate can also be used as a mineral filler and abrasive. In the production of chemicals and building materials, calcium carbonate can replace some expensive materials such as cerusite, talc and talcum powder. In abrasives, the particle surface of calcium carbonate can interact with the abrasive matrix to enhance the wear resistance and grinding efficiency of the abrasive to improve the efficiency and durability of the abrasive.
7. Used in nutritional supplements
The main component of most calcium tablets on the market is calcium carbonate. Calcium carbonate needs to be taken with meals [18] . Because calcium carbonate contains carbonic acid, it is easy to produce carbon dioxide in an acidic environment. It is not suitable for people with poor gastric acid secretion or who are using gastric acid inhibitors.
