Calcium oxide is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula CaO and its common name is quicklime. The physical properties are white powder on the surface, off-white when impure, light yellow or gray when containing impurities, and hygroscopic.
1. Can be used as a filler, for example: used as a filler for epoxy adhesives;
2. Used as analytical reagents, carbon dioxide absorbers during gas analysis, spectral analysis reagents, high-purity reagents used in epitaxy and diffusion processes in semiconductor production, laboratory ammonia drying and alcohol dehydration, etc.
3. Used as raw materials to produce calcium carbide, soda ash, bleaching powder, etc., also used in tanning, wastewater purification, calcium hydroxide and various calcium compounds;
4. Can be used as building materials, metallurgical flux, cement accelerator, and flux for fluorescent powder;
5. Used as vegetable oil decolorizing agent, drug carrier, soil conditioner and calcium fertilizer;
6. It can also be used for refractory materials and desiccants;
7. It can be used to prepare agricultural machinery No. 1 and No. 2 adhesives and underwater epoxy adhesives, and can also be used as a reagent for pre-reaction with 2402 resin;
8. Used for acidic wastewater treatment and sludge conditioning;
9. It can also be used as a boiler decommissioning protective agent, using the hygroscopic ability of lime to keep the metal surface of the boiler water and vapor system dry and prevent corrosion. It is suitable for long-term decommissioning protection of low-pressure, medium-pressure and small-capacity drum boilers;
10. Calcium hydroxide can be prepared by reacting with water. The reaction equation is: CaO+H2O=Ca(OH)2, which is a chemical reaction.
