Product Description

Electronic Grade 115% 105% 95% CAS No 8017-16-1 Polyphosphoric Acid

Polyphosphoric Acid (PPA) is colorless transparent viscous liquid, hygroscopic, non -crystallizable, corrosive, water soluble into orthophosphate acid. Acidity is weaker than nitric acid and sulfuric acid. Non-oxidicability, could cause burns when meeting H vesicant. Specific gravity is 2.1g/cm3. Normal boiling point is 856ºC, keeping hard glassy block upon lowtemperature and liquid when heating up to 50~60ºC. Relative density is 1.987(P2O5 80.0%); 2.052(P2O5 84.0%); 2.084(P2O5 86.0%). Hazard label 20 (corrosives acidic properties). High viscidity, hard to stir or pour under normal temperature, and easily to operate when temperature is above 60ºC, omit heat when solublein water, should be under ice-bath station when making dilution.

Production Usage

Polyphosphoric acid can be used as an analytical reagent in chemical industry and a powerful dehydrating agent for organic synthesis.

It is used in production of acid phosphates and pharmaceuticals. Intermediate for production of phosphate esters with high mono-ester content.

Polyphosphoric acid can be used as a catalyst during synthesis of dimethyl carbonate from urea and methanol.

It is widely employed as acylation and alkylation reagent in various reactions.

It can be used as a catalyst in the synthesis of various aromatic ketones.

It may be used to prepare silica-supported polyphosphoric acid, an easy to handle, reusable heterogeneous catalyst.

Polyphosphoric acid may be used in the synthesis of aromatic sulfones, N-substituted amides and 4-aminobenzophenones.

Used as a catalyst and absorbent of ammonia during the synthesis of dimethyl carbonate (DMC).

Used as a solvent in the synthesis of hyperbranched polybenzoxazoles.

Phosphoric acid vapor can cause nasal mucosa atrophy, can cause systemic poisoning. The maximum allowable concentration of phosphoric acid in air is 1 mg/ma. If not, the skin contact with phosphoric acid, should immediately rinse with plenty of water, and wipe red mercury solution or gentian violet solution, poisoning phenomenon should be sent to the hospital immediately. It is not allowed to be stored and mixed with alkaline, toxic and corrosive substances.

Storage: Store in a cool, well ventilated warehouse. Storage temperature is less than 30ºC, and the relative humidity is less than 85%. Keep the container sealed. Keep separate from alkalis, amines, alkali metal and flammable or combustible substance and be careful not to place them together. The leakage emergency treatment facility and appropriate collecting containers should be available in the storage area.
