Properties:
Iron chloride hexahydrate is a yellow-brown crystalline or block solid, odorless, astringent. Easy to dissolve in water, soluble in ethanol, and ether. Its aqueous solution is strongly acidic, and can make the protein solidify. Hygroscopic, in the air can be dissolved into red-brown liquid.
Iron chloride hexahydrate is water soluble lumps. Iron chloride hexahydrate, also known as Iron (III) chloride, is used in brown patinas (copper, brass, bronze) as well as treatment of sewage, water purification, as an etching agent for engraving and photography, printed circuitry, a mordant in dyeing and printing textiles, oxidizing agent, and a clinical reagent.
