Sodium hydrosulfide is the chemical compound with the formula NaSH. This compound is the product of the half-neutralization of hydrogen sulfide (H2S) with sodium hydroxide (NaOH). NaSH and sodium sulfide are used industrially, often for similar purposes. Solid NaSH is colorless. The solid has an odor of H2S owing to hydrolysis by atmospheric moisture. In contrast with sodium sulfide (Na2S), which is insoluble in organic solvents, NaSH, being a 1:1 electrolyte, is more soluble.
(1) Dye industry for the synthesis of organic intermediates and the preparation of sulfur dyes additives;
(2) Tanning industry for hair removal and tanning leather;
(3) The fertilizer industry is used to remove the monomer sulfur from the activated carbon desulfurizer;
(4) Mining industry for a large number of copper ore dressing;
(5) On man-made fiber production use for sulfurous acid;
(6) Raw materials for manufacture ammonium sulfide and pesticide ethanethiol semi-finished;
(7) Also used for wastewater treatment;
