Calcium chloride is a chemical substance composed of chlorine and calcium elements, with the chemical formula CaCl2 and is slightly bitter. 16. In agriculture, it can be used as a spray to prevent dry-heat wind disease in wheat and as a saline soil conditioner.
17. Calcium chloride has a significant effect in adsorbing dust and reducing the amount of dust.
18. Adding calcium chloride to swimming pool water can turn the pool water into a pH buffer solution and increase the hardness of the pool water, which can reduce the erosion of the concrete on the pool wall.
19. Adding calcium chloride to the water in a marine aquarium can increase the content of calcium available to organisms in the water. The molluscs and coelenterates cultured in the aquarium will use it to form calcium carbonate shells.
20. In oil field drilling, it can stabilize mud layers at different depths. Lubricate drilling to ensure the smooth progress of mining work. High-purity calcium chloride is used to make hole plugs to fix the oil wells.
21. Treat fluoride-containing wastewater and remove phosphate, mercury, lead, and copper heavy metals in the sewage. The chloride ions dissolved in water have a disinfecting effect.
